Do Blondes Really Have More Fun?

I do believe that this is the question of the century. Well, maybe of the week, I'm sure my interest in the topic will simmer down to non-existent in the coming weeks. But to peak my interest until then I decided to test this "theory" and find out for sure. On a side-note, I was also bored and too much free time inspired somewhat of a radical change, but I figure I should take full advantage of the opportunity.

I was born a blonde but shortly into my youth my hair darkened. Was I not destined to have more fun? Once I reached about the age of thirteen  I thought it would be fun to dye my hair blonde. Hold up! That word. Was there some reason I needed more fun? Now keep in mind I would eventually go back to my original color when I got my hair cut. Was I all tired out from having fun? I don't think so, but the brain does play tricks on one's mind from time to time.

The last time I did anything fun to my hair was at 2 in the morning after I got home from the Sum 41 concert with my Mother and second youngest brother early in the summer of 2005. I decided to just dye the front patch of my hair blonde. (Even though I look back on that decision with a question mark hovering over my head, I still believe it looked good at the time.) So here is where it gets interesting. I had a great time at the concert. I would consider it a fun time. So why did I dye just the front patch? Was it just some some punk rock thing that possessed me at the concert? Or did I just need a tiny bit of more fun? Or maybe it was because I had so much fun at the concert, that being at home wide awake with nothing to do didn't compare?

Now fast forward two years to this past Tuesday night (8/14/07). I decided to do the unthinkable, well ... er ... the random, I decided to go completely blonde! This decision came to me randomly after a month of reading the Harry Potter series and not really getting out of the house. So I went crazy blonde. And it was weird. Since my hair is so curly and bushy when not maintained it looked like a giant radioactive golden hamster. So the next day I sought out a hair salon in the area and stumbled upon Fantastic Sam's family hair salon. The nice college aged girls that worked there looked at me as if I had (the above mentioned) giant radioactive golden hamster on my head. They asked why I did it. I simply replied "boredom." After the cut the girl looked at it and said, "wow, now that it is more tame it looks like such a fun hairstyle." Ha!!! I am beginning to see a pattern.

After I got home I put on my sexy jeans and a cute lime green polo with a black t-shirt over it and danced in the mirror while singing, (only for about 5 seconds) but damn it was fun.
Now lets look at the facts:

    1. In the past I always died my hair out of boredom.
    2. I dyed my front patch of hair because being at home wasn't as fun as the concert.
    3. Most recently dyed hair because I needed some sort of excitement.
    4. The young lady at Fantastic Sam's said it "looked fun!"
    5. I kept looking in the mirror and smiling/dancing/singing.

After adding in all together in my new platinum head and realizing how much fun I have had today, by simply just existing, I believe I have come to a concrete answer to the question that has been plaguing me this early morning: Do blondes have more fun? Well, I am no scientist or whatever, but I have to say yes, blondes have more fun. Probably. Well this one (points to self) does.
I can't decide for you. So instead of figuring out for yourself by actually dyeing your hair blonde, I have included a before and after picture. Look at them and decide: Which picture is more fun?

Have fun my friends...
